On her way back from Captain Quinn’s Boot Camp this morning, my wife Beth noticed a few new places popping up on Atlantic Ave and hit the pavement to explore. Starting with the most shocking, Stan’s Place, the 5 year staple at Atlantic and Bond, has been transformed into Rothschild’s – a black-painted mystery. Any intel from our commenters? Stan’s was one of the few places in the neighborhood with good biscuits and gravy, (and Abita) so it will be a loss.

Further down Atlantic, between Smith and Boerum and next to the bicycle shop, a new restaurant appears to be opening. A notice in the window shows that they had a liquor license hearing last month. Did anyone attend? Any tips on this as well?

That’s a bummer. I liked Stan’s.
Stan’s website says their coming back first week of May so I assume similar menu, different name.
is it really that surprising. stans was almost always empty.
A friend and I actually walked by and were trying to peek in when the front door pushed open. Stan himself was inside. As we excused ourselves for barging in, he assured us that Rothschild’s would have several of our fav menu items from Stan’s Place, but some exciting new one’s as well. It is still his restaurant, just undergoing a makeover and new name.
NOOOOOOO! I truly think that Stan’s had the best fried chicken out there.
