Lost City reports that the Tea Lounge on Court Street, which opened in 2006, will soon close its doors for good. While the closing date isn’t certain (and the news seems to be mostly word of mouth), its last day of service could be as soon as the last day of September. UPDATE: We’ve gotten confirmation that the Court Street Tea Lounge will close after this Wednesday, September 30th. The Tea Lounge on Seventh Avenue and 10th Street in Park Slope was closed last July, making the Tea Lounge on Union Street in Park Slope the last one remaining.

I’m surprised that any place not selling alcohol can afford rents in the neighborhood.
That address has been through so many restaurants and cafes over the past 10 years. Perhaps something new and interesting will go in there … like a Thai restaurant.
Who the hell wanted to pay three dollars for an ideological coffee anyway?
whoever is thinking of opening something here. Cobble Hill doesn’t need another Asian restaurant of any type. And no more Thai=—please no more Thai
Coffees were good. Interior needed some updating though. And please no more Thai.
Well the Tea Lounge is the only business that lasted in that location longer than most. To bad to lose it. It gave a vibe to an area on Court that needs it. And, their chairs out front will be missed by bus crowd and the neighborhood. And, their embloyees were great.
You guys know I was being sarcastic, right?
Oh god, no… It was not a great place, but as mentioned, had a good vibe, please no big chain store, just a place that respect our neighborhood…
I had heard that Tea Lounge was expanding to Bklyn Heights. does anyone know whether or not that is still in the works or are they on the way to going out of business?
@ Capo: Sorry, but I’m gonna have to steal the phrase “ideological coffee.”
