ghang Thai Kitchen is one of my go-to places to eat in the nabe- it’s delicious, super affordable, no-frills, and best of all, BYOB. The second branch of the Smith Street Thai restaurant is set to open either this week or next at 229 Court Street, just a block away from Joya. The new ghang has a different, sleeker look than the original, with a fancier takeout menu to match. Perhaps the most major distinction is that the new ghang has a bar, so don’t show up with a six-pack. Let’s hope that people stop overcrowding Joya and check out the new ghang, which offers far more variety and quality.
P.S. A new restaurant will be opening soon next door to the Court Street ghang…
New York Times: CAFé MEI MEI Flooring inspired by Mondrian’s palette (white with red, blue and yellow) and a name borrowed from the owner’s Siberian husky offer no clue that this spot, owned by Robert Ribant, formerly the chef at Michael’s, will serve seasonal fare, emphasizing seafood: 231 Court Street (Baltic Street), Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, (718) 852-8571. Early October.

LOVE ghang thai. The food is always delicious, great service and so affordable. I wish them lots of luck!!!!
Any idea when the health food place next to Trader Joe’s is due to open?
so many restaurants in our area! craziness. wish i felt the same about ghang.. last time i went it was one of the worst thai experiences ive had in years. ill try the new one though.. that place left a bad taste in my mouth much like my last raga experience
Is it as cheap at Joya?
Can’t wait till we start getting something besides Asian restaurant’s in the neighborhood
it sounds better than montague st
Wow. Another Thai restaurant. The neighborhood is need of another.
cafe mei mei is an american restaurant. great steak, chicken, duck. a lot of fish and many many yummy specials.
I love Ghang, but I don’t think we need two of them and we certainly don’t need any more Thai restaurants in the neighborhood. I implore anyone brave enough to open another restaurant in the hood to get it right and give a quality product for a reasonable price with good service. I’d love to see someone follow the Mama’s (East Village) formula in the city. I look forward to checking out Cafe Mei Mei.
enought thai already! ugh!!!
