Check out NY1‘s story on Red Hook’s Bamboo Bike Studio, where you can attend a weekend workshop to build your own bike with a frame made out of bamboo, which the owner says is “stronger than steel.” The workshops start on Saturday and end on Sunday, when you walk out with your new, homemade, sustainable ride.
This sounds like a fun time. Bamboo is the wood fo the future. Another plus bamboo has is that it is super light. I jsut wonder how it will put up with the NYC roads.
