Sex-crazed birds keep residents awake
A Daily News article brings attention to a problem plaguing Carroll Gardens residents: the love-making sounds of mockingbirds outside of their windows.
Tormented residents complain the ear-splitting love songs are as annoying as car alarms.
“It’s loud and shrill and grating,” fumed John DiMartino, 37, an engineer from Carroll Gardens,Brooklyn.
DiMartino had to buy earplugs to drown out the late-night love songs that started outside his apartment about three weeks ago. “It was making it hard for us to sleep.”

Yes, it starts at about 4ish am-continues on- at first i couldn’t believe my ears, but it is like an alarm , since i hear them and i have got to go. Well, dont know what to do, guess they do their thing as we do ours. Just hoped it were a wee later in the morning- maybe if we twitter abit later on in morning, they will decide to follow, follow?
