   Every time I pass this I think of how ugly it is, and how strange it is that someone feels the need to prominently display it to everyone who walks by.

   I believe that this statue was here before the neighborhood became trendy and probably before you, Victor. It’s not the most beautiful to me either, but it definitely captures the religious beliefs, views, and culture of the neighborhood before Starbucks came to Smith or Court.
