Looks like the Marco Polo mini-empire on the corner of Court and Union Streets will soon grow soon to include a wine bar, according to a recent Craigslist ad looking for a manager.

Is Marco Polo any good?
The food is fine. Casa Rosa is better. So is Red Rose.
The owner is very connected. He was recently convicted of a crime that involved abetting the Mafia. Markowitz got him off with only a fine and probation by writing a letter to the DA.
He was the guy who owned Gage and Tollner, where the actor Steven Segal was geting shook down by the Mafia movie producers.. I hear Marco Polo has a dish where the core out a wheel of parmagiano, and cook pasta in it, sounds pretty good. Red rose is great, so is Queen in the Heights
Marco Polo does indeed do that dish, lifer. It’s a red wine fettucine that is cooked table-side, then dumped into the gigantic cheese wheel. It’s delicious!
On a side note, I went Fragole for the first time in quite a while recently and thought the pasta was awesome. We are lucky in this neighborhood to have these choices.
Marco Polo ristorante has been here for ages. Wonderful food, atmosphere, pianist for entertainment- when working. Bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays, etc. You name it- they will cater to it. Wonderful room upstairs that holds alot of people. Food is great- they will work with your party -with food choices- abundanso- meaning alot. Your dollars will go along way. When you walk in-there is the restaurant, also the side view part of it- on Union Street.
Maitre D and waiters are all very friendly. Yes, the owner did own Gage and Tollners for a while. He has a wonderful smaller walkin sandwich shop, that has delicioso pizza, artichokes to die for, etc. So, its been successful and anything else that they open will do well.
